On the 7. March 2001 Trollhetta AS was established. The entrepreneurial team behind the company was Dr. Ing Ketil Bø and Dr. Ing Agnar Aamodt, both professors at NTNU.

The company was founded with the following goals: Develop, produce, sell and marked computer software and services. To achieve these goals the company could establish in co-operation new companies.
